I have a strong interest in macro photography, although I rarely devote the time to practicing it myself. I ran across Levon Biss’s “Microsculpture” project several months ago and was impressed and amazed by the extreme quality he’s achieved in his insect photography. His images are are photo mosaics consisting of hundreds of full-frame, high-resolution frames which allow for extreme detail and enormous reproduction sizes; The same approach we used in military intelligence to create highly detailed satellite reconnaissance imagery.
